As ever,
Little angels were
Together; playing and smiling.
A cheer
Sounded afar,
'Boy! Don't let a girl win'
And cheer
Blasted afar,
'Girl! Beat boys, be queen'
Thus, sneer
Superseded smile;
Sheer simplicity was ruined.
Ages after,
Contest continued,
Won none; all forgot smiling.
